Colorado Non-profit Helping Athletes and Cancer Research Posted by : admin
Basketball Events ERIE, Colo.—Biokats Sports Network, a local non-profit, joins the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s (LAF) fight against cancer by raising funds through the Rocky Mountain Basketball Showcase. Biokats president Jerry Howard announced today. “This year we wanted to provide an event that helps not only the local athletes, but the community in Cancer awareness.” Howard said. It’s a great program for a great cause.


The 4th Rocky Mountain Basketball Showcase will feature the regions best Boys and Girls athletes in Basketball. It’s the premier pre-season basketball event in the region.

For the Girls Showcase event, We have Chaundra Sewell(Broomfield HS, CO), Laura Palmere (Mullen HS, CO), Erica Hicks (Lakewood HS, CO), Rachel Messer (Thunderridge HS, CO), Meagan Malcolm-Peck (Horizon HS, CO) Meghan Hollenga (Air Academy HS, CO), Haley Homestead (American Fork, UT), Brooke Jelniker (Thunderridge HS, CO), Jaqueline Bartles (Pojoaque, NM), Samantha Martin (Chaparral HS, CO), Brenna Malcolm-Peck (Horizon HS, CO), Tameka Hunt (Montbello HS, CO), Carlie Needles (Thunderridge HS, CO).


For the Boys Showcase event, we have the following players:
Pierce Hornung (Ralston Valley HS, CO), Eric Swift (Denver Street HS, CO), Travis Shepherd (Fairview HS, CO), Thomas Bropleh (Geore Washington HS, CO), Gage Wooten (Eaglecrest HS, CO), Nick Fox (Sand Creek HS, CO), Bryce Valsquez (Doherty HS, CO), Austin Maag (Fort Collins HS, CO), Nate McAuliffe (Fort Collins HS, CO), Alfonso Hubbard (Gallup HS, NM), Zach Adams (Mesilla Valley HS, NM), Scott Adler (Mesilla Valley HS, NM), Wade Bronson (Bear River, UT), Jordan Weirrick (West Jordan HS, UT), Matt Weyland (Bear River, UT).

When: Saturday October 4th , 2008
Where: Legacy High School (Broomfield, CO)

There are several events scheduled through the day:
Team Scrimmages, Showcase, and the Benefit Game for LAF.

Funds raised through the Rocky Mountain Basketball Showcase will enable the LAF to continue helping people across the nation with the physical, emotional and practical challenges of cancer. Since its inception in 1997, the LAF has awarded more than $29 million to cancer survivorship programs and research.
